Val Hodgson
Valerie’s paintings show her delight in the patterns of light and colour found in the everyday world. Using expressive colour and simplifying detail, her oil paintings celebrate the ordinary. Born and raised in Vancouver BC, she has called Yukon home for more then 30 years. She began painting 8 years ago after retiring from a professional career. Committed to the pursuit of excellence in painting, she has studied with many award winning contemporary masters. Along with a diligent studio practice, these workshops and mentorship’s have been the foundation of her artistic education.
