Richard Cloutier
Born in Quebec City in 1964, Richard Cloutier draws and explores different avenues in art since childhood. In 1987, he obtained his degree from Laval University School of Architecture. From now on, the drawn idea can be translated into built reality.
Meanwhile, his fascination for spatial representation through painting will lead him to the Ateliers Imagine and to the Ateliers du Musée du Québec. At the beginning of the year 2000, he will finally decide to enter into a long desired adventure.
So, after studying with such renowned teachers as Jocelyne Alloucherie, Richard Mill and Marcel Jean, he obtained in May 2004 a second degree from Laval University in Quebec City, this time in Visual Arts. Through his production, it is the reality of the architectural space he now tries to translate into new poetical forms.
In Fall 2006, Richard Cloutier completed a Master Degree in Visual Arts at Laval University ; he has been a scholarship holder from the Fonds québécois de recherche sur la société et la culture and from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada for the year 2005-2006.
