Jackie Olson
Jackie Olson, a member of the Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in First Nation, feels that: “process, whether it is traditional or contemporary, is the most important part of creating. Tanning a hide or making paper from fibres is a long and physically hard process, which gives me the time to meditate on future works ... The challenges of balancing cultures and standing by my convictions of being expressive yet original come into play everyday.”
Jackie lives with her family in Dawson City, where she creates the abstract expressionist works that can be seen in galleries and private collections all over the world.
